A dreaming brain
As you can read on other sections of the site (the REM state, why depressed people dream more, the cycle of depression and how to sleep well) our dreaming and sleep mechanisms are very closely related to your mood.
We dream to de-stress ourselves each night, to wake up ready for whatever the new day may bring us. If we didn’t have the benefit of a fully functioning dreaming brain, we would get more and more stressed, leading eventually to exhaustion and probably psychosis.
Learn how to make the most of your dreaming brain using the Sleep & Depression section of this site.
